Expectations are behavioral requirements that Kindred evaluates against an agent’s traces.

How to use it

  1. Open Expectations.
  2. Click New Expectation.
  3. Choose an Agent.
  4. Write the expected behavior in Expectation.
  5. Click Save and Run.
  6. Use Run, Edit, Disable, Enable, or Delete to manage existing expectations.
  7. Use Filter expectations… and the sort menu to find expectations by result or recency.

How to interpret the results

The page summarizes Total expectations, Expectations with violations, and Sessions evaluated. Each expectation shows one of the statuses used in the product:
  • Passing: no violations are currently shown.
  • Violating: at least one evaluated trace failed the expectation.
  • Disabled: the expectation is turned off and will not run.
Open a violating expectation to review the related Trace, Why it failed, and Evidence. Trace links open the relevant session or turn in Behavior Search. Enabled expectations run when created, edited, manually run, and when newly ingested non-replay traces are evaluated. Disabled expectations do not run.
